Sure, classes are fun, and studying in the plethora of cafes that South Korea has to offer is certainly a treat. However, it should come as no surprise that one of the best parts of studying abroad is traveling! While academic life abroad isn’t all fun and games (it’s certainly a lot of hard work!), if you plan well and manage your time decently, you may just have the opportunity to explore your host country!
Whether you explore in short bursts through weekend trips, or through the occasional mid-school week vacation (made possible by online classes!), or through a longer-term excursion during a school break, my goal is to help guide you to make the most out of your adventures. Even for those of you who are not studying abroad, but are still looking to explore the beauty of South Korea, I hope to share information that is applicable and insightful, and can help inspire and guide you as you plan your own travels!
My next few posts will include travel tips, personal anecdotes, and words of warning based off mistakes I have made in my own journeys. I will start this series with a post on how to plan a longer-term, cross-country trip and will follow that with more specific posts on transportation, lodging, and so forth. Additionally, I will curate posts that will provide guidance on beautiful spots to visit and recommendations for day/weekend trips. And of course, I will continue to provide insight into life and travels in Korea during COVID-19. So, be checking for new written posts here, and check the Jangmi Travels instagram for travel-inspiration posts!
